Hello again! As of today, there are only 14 days left in 2018.  Yikes.  In previous blog posts, I have talked about Facebook specifically and the importance of a social media presence.  Also, I discussed why video is your friend across social media.  Let’s not forget that great list of 10 ways to use social media to promote your event.  As we look forward to 2019, let’s take a moment to chat about the best times to post on social media.

Unfortunately, there is no perfect time to post on social media.  Each person has a different time during which they browse.  Myself, as an example, I normally gravitate to Twitter in the early morning.  I will visit Facebook around lunch time on an average day.  While you’ll find me on either Instagram or Pinterest after 8:30pm. Take a moment to think of how your social media viewing times compare to the times that I am perusing social media.  It just goes to show how different each person is and why there is not perfect time to post.

Even though every individual has a normal time that they will go onto social media. Each platform has an optimal time in which to post on.  A simple search online will produce multiple articles with a great deal of data indicating the best times to post on social media.  When posting on Facebook, Thursday through Sunday will get you the highest engagement.  While Wednesdays are the most effective days to post on Twitter.  It is not just about the day that you post either.  There more effective times of the day to post too.  Instagram’s peak times to post are 2:00 am, between 8:00 to 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. 2:00 am! Who would have guessed that?  What about LinkedIn? As you could guess, since it is a more business professional platform the best times to post are Tuesday – Thursday and at 7:00 to 8:00 am, noon and 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

How is a business with a presence on multiple social platforms supposed to keep track of all these times and days effectively?  It would be a full-time job for one person to manually post at the optimum times on each platform daily. For DRN and ReadiTech’s social media accounts we have chosen to use a third-party vendor to assist with this task.  Currently, we are utilizing CoSchedule for our social media scheduling.  With this service I can post across multiple platforms at the same time.  Plus, CoSchedule will pick the perfect time to post it for me.  I can still choose to post something at a specific time if it fits the post better.  CoSchedule utilizes data to know what time to post on that day, platform and time.  Not only does it post on social media but with the integrated calendar the DRN/ReadiTech marketing team is using it as a singular place to keep track of our marketing campaigns for the whole company.  *This is not a paid advertisement for CoSchedule it just works well for our team.

Regardless, if you are posting on social media at the optimal time or not the important thing to remember is that you are posting and posting often.  Wishing you and your business a successful and profitable 2019!
